tl;dr: Very good semi-automatic/automatic fixed wing. Good quality build, helpful staff (Farins Frames). Would order again :) ----- I describe my setup (configuration for Farins Frames and more necessary equipment not from Farins Frames) bellow. 1. Ordering process Very simple to choose compatible devices, communication after order is placed is still possible (e.g. leave space for a GoPro). Overall Time (from ordering until received package) 40 days. This seems long, but it's a custom build, it's not sitting in the stock! 10 days delay because of a delayed controller. I also received photos and videos of the maiden flight (done by Farins Frames). 2. Package delivery Shipping with tracking, no damage, it was all wrapped safely! 3. Description / Information Not too much information. I received an explanatory video regarding the controller (especially auto launch). This should not be your first fixed wing drone! If you spend some time on YouTube you will easily learn everything about the built in iNav system and the goggles. In the end, the video is kind of sufficient. Also, the staff was open for questions, so if something is unclear you will very likely also get help and assistance after you ordered this baby :) 4. Additional equipment The equipment was bought by other companies (this has nothing to do with this review). But i want to say, that the descriptions on this website made it very easy to find matching equipment. 5. First flight Was a crash due to sudden changing wind, a bad throw and small throttle (~60-70%). Drone rolled hard right (3x barrel roll) before it smashed into the ground (nose forward). Luckily, only the nose was ripped apart, just some glue and it was fine again. All the other installations are still perfect, especially the wings sustain this impact very well. Keep in mind: The first flights might result in a crash, even though it has autolaunch. It's like rocket science, sometimes things go boom. 6. Second flight After glueing it together and waiting for less wind, i tried another time. This time it worked perfectly fine, nice automatic launch, everything works as expected. DJI FPV system is a charm! Take your time when landing. I have some experience with a fixed wing that glides more and some flight sim experience. So choose low throttle, fly horizontal to ground (2m alt) and then 0% throttle until you touchdown (of course holding nose straight as long as possible). I landed on snow, and slided a couple of meters. Wings did not touch until stop (because of downward pointing V-wings in the rear). Perfect landing! Possible extensions This chassis gives you a lot of space, and the wings are able to lift another few devices with ease! 8. Range I have not yet had the time to do some range testing (requires a less busy airspace). But from the numbers, this should be able to do 30-45 min in horizontal flight. Obviously less when doing acrobatics. DJI FPV System (with AXII antennas) on 25mW did easily do 1300m distance on full quality (720p) without distortion. 2000m are probably doable with 25mw (estimated).
